The quality of a kamado grill is determined long before it reaches the customer—it’s built into every step of the manufacturing process. This inside look at our factory shows how premium kamados are made from raw material to finished product.

Ceramic Body Production

The ceramic body is the heart of every kamado grill, and our production process takes 15 days from raw material to finished firing.

Step 1: Material Formulation

We begin with our proprietary cordierite ceramic formulation, developed specifically for high-temperature cooking applications. The raw materials—clay, talc, alumina, and silica—are precisely weighed, mixed, and milled to a consistent particle size. This formulation is what gives our grills their excellent thermal shock resistance and heat retention properties.

Step 2: Slip Casting

The ceramic bodies are produced using slip casting, the traditional method for high-quality ceramic cookware. Liquid ceramic slurry is poured into plaster molds, where it sets gradually to form uniform wall thickness. Each mold is used a limited number of times to maintain dimensional accuracy.

Step 3: Drying & Green Machining

After demolding, the green ceramic bodies air-dry for 7 days under controlled humidity. Once dry, they are precision machined to ensure perfect roundness and flat sealing surfaces. This step is critical for a proper lid seal and consistent heat retention.

Step 4: Glazing

Food-safe glaze is applied by experienced technicians using spray application. We apply two coats for consistent finish and durability. Each glaze batch is tested for food contact safety before use.

Step 5: Firing

The glazed bodies are fired in computer-controlled tunnel kilns at 1280°C for 36 hours. The slow heating and cooling cycle ensures complete vitrification and minimizes internal stress. This is the most energy-intensive and quality-critical step in the process.

Metal Component Manufacturing

All critical metal components are produced in-house to maintain quality control.

  • Bands & hinges: Cut from steel sheet, formed, welded, and powder coated or stainless steel polished
  • Vent mechanisms: Precision stamped and assembled for smooth operation
  • Cooking grates: Electro-polished stainless steel or seasoned cast iron
  • Cart frames: Tube steel construction with reinforced joints

Every metal component undergoes salt spray testing to verify corrosion resistance for outdoor use.

Assembly & Quality Control

Each grill goes through a 42-point inspection process before packaging:

  1. Ceramic body dimensional check
  2. Glaze finish inspection
  3. Thermal shock test (sample testing from each batch)
  4. Lid seal pressure test
  5. Hinge alignment and tension adjustment
  6. Vent operation check
  7. Temperature gauge calibration verification
  8. Full assembly fit check
  9. Final cosmetic inspection
  10. Packaging completeness verification

We also perform full thermal cycle testing on 5% of production units, running them up to 600°F and monitoring temperature distribution and seal performance.

Factory Capabilities

  • 20,000㎡ production facility
  • 200+ skilled workers
  • Monthly production capacity: 3,000+ units
