#Kamado Crazing

Is it normal to see hairlines cracks on the surface of my Kamado?

Answer – in short, YES.

“Crazing” is caused by the different rates at which the ceramic & glazed elements cool during the manufacturing process of the Kamado BBQ and nothing to be concerned about. It will slightly alter the aesthetic looks of the BBQ, & some will show it more than others, but will not have a detrimental impact on the performance of the unit.

This crazing occurs on all makes of ceramic kamado, not just on ours.

If you search on the Internet, it is not difficult to find that there are many comments on this aspect, which is normal situation.
Some people even feel that this “crazing” can make his kamado unique.
Totally speaking:
The “Crazing” is normal for kamado bbq and happened to all the kamado in the world, including Big Green Egg, Kamado Joe etc, but not will spalling.
